Great Systems for Inside Plants

There are all kinds of companies that specialize in taking care of plants inside of residential homes and commercial buildings.  They will help plan out entire gardens and individual plants as well as maintain the care for these inside plants, however, there are also great inside plant service systems.

Hydroponic systems are one of these inside plant services that are used to deliver nutrients to the indoor plants that are being grown.  These systems keep the indoor plants fed and hydrated so that people don’t have to be hired for this kind of maintenance.

Hydroponic Drip System

These are one of the most used hydroponic systems for indoor plants.  A timer controls a submersed pump, and nutrient solution drips into the base of each plant that has been placed in the system through a drip line.
This is a simple system to use and operate, and it feeds the plants that are being grown indoors.  They allow the plants to be constantly fed and hydrated without the need of an actual person to constantly have to check on the moisture levels and food supply.

The average price of a hydroponic drip system is about $200 to $300.

Hydroponic Wick System

The hydroponic wick system is the most simple hydroponic inside plant service system there is.  There are no moving parts to this system, because the wick is what is used to pass nutrient solution to the plants.
The main drawback to using this system to hydrate indoor plants is when trying to grow bigger plants, because bigger plants will need to use up the nutrient solution faster than the wick can supply it to them.

The average price of a hydroponic wick system is about $80.

Hydroponic Ebb and Flow System

The ebb and flow system is a bit more complex than the drip and wick systems.  The way the ebb and flow system works is that it has a submersed pump that is on a timer, and the timer makes the pump flood the plants with the nutrient solution.  Once the timer shuts the pump off, the excess nutrient solution will drain back into the reservoir.  This will allow the plants to get as much nutrients and hydration as they need, without giving them too much.

The timer on the hydroponic ebb and flow system is set to go off several times a day depending on the type of plant that is being grown in the system.  The timer could be set to go off just once or twice a day for smaller plants to three or four times a day for larger plants.

The main disadvantage to using this kind of inside plant service system is that certain kinds of growing medium can cause power outages as well as pump and timer failures.

The average price of the hydroponic ebb and flow system is about $300 to $400.
